Interview with Venture Yachts Interior Manager SENA AKGÜL

Interview with Venture Yachts Team

"From the shipyard aspect, what is the most critical aspect of coordination from the project's inception to the launch of the yacht, between the design teams and manufacturers?"

"From our perspective, the most critical coordination element between the two teams is the shipyard; however, the manufacturer also plays a key role in this process. Continuous and transparent information flow is the most important factor for effective coordination. The data provided by the design team must reach the manufacturer accurately and on time. The manufacturer should integrate this information into its production system, anticipate potential issues before they arise during implementation, and develop solutions together with the shipyard. The manufacturer must take an active role, and coordination should be maintained through two-way and continuous communication."

"What thrill you more: initiating a new build or a refit project? Could you share the details or the specifications with us please?"

"Both project types are valuable and contribute to development from the shipyard perspective. New projects always bring greater excitement and opportunities for innovation. They allow new design solutions, different production techniques, and the development of a concept from scratch, which is highly motivating. Refit projects operate within the boundaries of an existing structure; however, they also provide opportunities to introduce new methods and add additional value to the existing build. Therefore, both project types have their own advantages and distinctive strengths. "

"In business settings where the effects of digital advances are growing, how do you incorporate this technology with your collaborative solution partners?"

"Today, digital advancements contribute significantly to our industry through improvements in 3D modeling, visualization, and production technologies. Advanced manufacturing equipment positively impacts both the design process and the final product quality. However, since yacht construction involves multiple disciplines and trades, it is not always possible to fully transfer every process into a digital environment. In certain stages, traditional methods such as on-site measurements and templates still deliver more accurate results. At the same time, digital tools are becoming an integral part of the process, increasing efficiency and project speed while improving clarity and visualization. These technologies are gradually becoming standardized, and the industry is naturally adapting to this transformation. "

"Regarding the project/projects you collaborated on with MSM Yacht Interiors, what stands out as your most unforgettable experience of engaging with MSM?"

"This is our fourth major project with MSM, and we have achieved significant progress together in each one. It is difficult to separate them, as every project has been valuable and instructive. The key element has been strong communication and a collaborative working discipline. If we need to highlight a specific area, we can mention the master cabin area within our 14009 project as a clear example of this collaboration. We appreciate MSM’s approach to communication and coordination and would like to thank the team for this partnership."

"As of the projects you experienced with MSM Yacht Interiors, how was the participation of MSM Yacht ınteriors's enhancement for your project?"

In the projects we have worked on together, a certain professional standard and alignment have been achieved. MSM also enhances project efficiency by improving its 3D scanning accuracy, which contributes to increasing both production speed and overall quality. However, stronger technical contributions and a greater differentiating impact always add value to a project. While we view our current collaboration positively, we also see areas open for further improvement. Progressing with a continuous improvement mindset will create more sustainable results for both parties.
