MSM Yacht Interiors Takes the First Step in Its MSM Atölye Project at Yalova University

MSM Yacht Interiors has taken the first concrete step toward realizing its long-planned MSM Atölye project through a strategic cooperation agreement signed with Yalova University. The planned 1,000 m² yacht composite manufacturing workshop on the university campus will support students' professional development while creating new opportunities for research and development through academic collaboration. The project aims to develop a sustainable solution to one of the industry's most persistent challenges—the shortage of skilled professionals—and establish a model that could inspire similar initiatives across other industrial sectors.

Strategic Partnership with Yalova University

On October 22, 2026, Yalova University signed University–Industry Cooperation Protocols with seven industrial companies, including MSM Yacht Interiors.

The signing ceremony, hosted by Yalova University Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Bahçekapılı, marked the beginning of a long-term collaboration connecting education, research, and industry.

For MSM Yacht Interiors, the agreement represents an important part of its corporate commitment to the future of the yacht industry, sustainable development, and the cultivation of a skilled workforce.

The First Step of the MSM Atölye Project

Developed through extensive planning by MSM Yacht Interiors Founder Sadık Makal and the company's Board of Directors, the MSM Atölye project aims to connect industrial expertise with education, contribute to the development of skilled professionals, and invest in the future of the industry.

As the project's first phase, a 1,000 m² yacht composite manufacturing workshop is planned to be established on the Yalova University campus through a donation from MSM Yacht Interiors.

The new facility is planned to be equipped with a comprehensive range of machinery and equipment dedicated to composite manufacturing processes.

This infrastructure will enable students to translate theoretical knowledge into practical skills, gain firsthand experience with manufacturing technologies, and become familiar with real-world industrial production processes.

A Sustainable Model to Address the Skilled Workforce Shortage

One of the most persistent challenges facing the manufacturing industry has been the difficulty of finding qualified and experienced professionals capable of meeting increasingly specialized production requirements. This challenge is particularly significant in yacht manufacturing, where technical expertise, craftsmanship, and hands-on experience are essential to sustainable growth.

Through the MSM Atölye project, MSM Yacht Interiors aims to address this long-standing challenge with a forward-looking approach that goes beyond meeting immediate recruitment needs and focuses on developing the skilled professionals of tomorrow.

At the heart of the project is the vision of establishing a system in which students engage directly with industry throughout their education, theoretical knowledge is reinforced through practical manufacturing experience, and professional development is closely connected to employment opportunities.

The long-term vision of MSM Atölye is to establish a sustainable and replicable education-to-industry model capable of developing lasting solutions to the skilled workforce challenges facing the yacht manufacturing sector.

As the initiative demonstrates its effectiveness, the model is intended to serve as a reference not only for yacht manufacturing but also for other industrial sectors experiencing similar workforce challenges.

What Comes Next?

The strategic cooperation agreement signed with Yalova University marks the beginning of the MSM Atölye project while laying the foundation for a broader academic and industrial partnership.

Through this collaboration, MSM Yacht Interiors aims not only to support students' professional development but also to strengthen and accelerate its own research and development activities by integrating Yalova University's academic expertise and research capabilities.

Joint research projects involving university academics are expected to contribute to the advancement of manufacturing technologies, the exploration of innovative solutions, and the scientific evaluation of technical challenges encountered in industrial production.

In the coming stages, the partnership is expected to expand through practical training programs, internships, employment opportunities, joint R&D projects, and academic consultancy.

By combining MSM Yacht Interiors' production expertise and industry experience with Yalova University's academic capabilities, the collaboration aims to establish a sustainable model connecting education, research, manufacturing, and employment.

A Social Responsibility Initiative for Yalova and Future Generations

The first phase of the MSM Atölye project at Yalova University also represents a long-term social responsibility initiative dedicated to the city of Yalova and its university students.

Through the planned workshop, MSM Yacht Interiors aims to support students in developing technical and professional skills during their education, strengthen hands-on learning opportunities, and create new pathways into professional careers.

Connecting students with industry while they are still at university, strengthening the relationship between education and employment, and preparing young people to enter the workforce as skilled professionals are among the project's central objectives.

A Call for Collective Industry Action Toward a Sustainable Future

MSM Yacht Interiors believes that sustainable growth depends not only on expanding manufacturing capacity but also on sharing knowledge, developing new technologies, and investing in future generations.

With this vision, MSM Atölye is being developed as more than a manufacturing infrastructure project. It represents a long-term initiative bringing universities, industry, and students together around shared goals of education, innovation, and professional development.

Recognizing that industrial companies have an important responsibility in addressing the skilled workforce shortage, MSM Yacht Interiors encourages the wider adoption of similar education and manufacturing models built on strong university–industry partnerships.

Developing practical training infrastructures tailored to the needs of individual sectors, supported by close collaboration with academic institutions, could make a meaningful contribution to the sustainable development of Türkiye's manufacturing capabilities and global competitiveness.

For MSM Yacht Interiors, the agreement signed with Yalova University represents more than the beginning of a new partnership. It marks the first concrete step toward a long-term vision dedicated to the future of the industry, the development of skilled professionals, and the advancement of Türkiye's manufacturing culture.
